Choose Kenya when you register and your company starts with KES as base currency, a January–December fiscal year and VAT 16% and withholding-tax defaults. Check the rates with your accountant before you rely on them.
M-Pesa payment requests
Send an M-Pesa prompt to a customer's phone from an invoice; when they pay, the invoice is settled automatically. M-Pesa and Airtel Money transactions also reconcile into accounting. M-Pesa requests need your own Safaricom Daraja credentials.

Vitabu's deepest localization today is for Tanzania — statutory payroll (NSSF, PAYE, WCF, SDL) and EFD-style receipt confirmation are built around Tanzania's requirements specifically. A Kenyan business can run the full Core ERP and reconcile M-Pesa/Airtel Money today, but Kenya-specific statutory payroll (NHIF/SHIF, Kenya NSSF, Housing Levy) and a live KRA eTIMS connection aren't built in yet. Is Vitabu ERP available for businesses in Kenya?
Yes. Kenya is a supported country — set KES as your currency and reconcile M-Pesa or Airtel Money transactions directly into your books.
Does Vitabu handle Kenya-specific statutory payroll deductions (NHIF, NSSF Kenya, Housing Levy)?
Not yet as named, calculated statutory schemes — Vitabu's payroll engine today is built around Tanzania's NSSF/PAYE/WCF/SDL statutory setup. You can configure your own PAYE tax bands for Kenya, but Kenya-specific deductions like NHIF/SHIF and the Housing Levy aren't built in as dedicated calculations yet.
Does Vitabu submit invoices to KRA's eTIMS system?
Not to KRA's live system. There is an eTIMS sandbox integration that simulates submission, and live submission needs KRA certification that has not been completed. Treat eTIMS as in development, not a production compliance feature, and confirm your filing requirements with your accountant or KRA directly.
What does work fully for a Kenyan business right now?
