Everyday care

  • Fresh water always, and food suited to the animal’s age
  • A yearly check-up, including teeth and weight
  • Regular deworming and flea and tick control
  • Rabies and core vaccines kept up to date
  • Neutering, when we advise it, to prevent illness and unwanted litters

Questions about prevention

Do puppies and kittens need to be kept indoors until their jabs?

Until they have had their vaccines, keep them away from unvaccinated animals and shared ground. Ask us when it is safe.

Why is rabies vaccination important?

Rabies is fatal and can pass from animals to people. Vaccinating your pet protects your family and your community, and a certificate is needed for travel.

How often should I deworm?

Young animals need treatment every two weeks at first, then monthly and then every three months. We set the plan by weight and lifestyle.

What about fleas and ticks?

Treat all animals in the house at the same time, and wash bedding. We will suggest a product that suits your animal.
