About

A parish for the whole neighbourhood, and who does what.

A parish for the whole neighbourhood.

Neema began as a few families meeting on a Sunday afternoon. It is still a small parish, and it still tries to make a stranger feel like a neighbour.

  • Open to everyone, whatever you believe
  • Services in Swahili and English
  • Children and young people at the centre
  • Open books: the accounts are read at the annual meeting

Sample story — replace it with your own. Neema is fictional; we do not invent clergy, members or testimonies.

Who does what

The Vicar
Leads worship, preaches and looks after the pastoral care of the parish.
The wardens
Look after the building, the money and the diary, with the parish council.
The prayer team
Pray for every request that is sent, in confidence.
Everyone else
Welcomers, choir, children’s church, cooks and cleaners: the parish is the people.
