If you know the roads and want the freedom, drive yourself. If you have meetings, luggage or a long night flight behind you, take a driver.
In the city
Traffic and parking are the hard parts. A chauffeur costs a little more per day and saves your patience, your time and the parking fee.
On the long road
For a safari or a trip to the coast, a self-drive 4×4 with unlimited kilometres is often cheapest. Ask about the roads and the fuel stops before you set out.
For a group
A 14-seat van with a driver is usually cheaper than three cars, and everyone arrives together.
